Portsmouth Square Garage is a community garage, built in 1962 with the seed money raised by the Chinatown business community. The Garage is managed by a nonprofit corporation, the Portsmouth Plaza Parking Corporation. While visiting San Francisco’s Chinatown & Financial District, please park with us to support this community Garage. We provide over 456 parking spaces with a friendly staff.

Convenience

Portsmouth Square Plaza Garage is located right in the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown. The Garage has spaces for 456 cars distributed on four levels of parking, with access from Kearny onto the second level. The entrance is located at 733 Kearny Street.

Height clearance is 7’-0” for the garage.

 

Historic Chinatown

San Francisco Chinatown is the largest Chinatown outside of Asia as well as the oldest Chinatown in North America. It is one of the top tourist attractions in San Francisco. See below link to learn more about the attractions, culture, history, and events in Chinatown.

 

Access to parking in a secure location

We follow the SF Department of Health recommendation protocols.

Portsmouth Square Plaza Garage is equipped with Skidata, the state of art revenue control system that accepts touchless electronic payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay in addition to credit cards and cash.

Community Effort

Did you know Chinatown business leaders fought the City to build Portsmouth Square Plaza Garage by first providing the seed money in the 50’s? And that it opened in 1962.
