Jaynry Mak is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the Portsmouth Plaza Parking Corporation, a nonprofit public benefit corporation serving San Francisco's historic Chinatown. She is also the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC), a nonprofit organization providing programs and services to over 8,000 youth, young adults, and their families annually. Jaynry is also the past President and Advisory Board Chairwoman of the San Francisco Women's Political Committee (SFWPC), the largest women's political organization in San Francisco seeking to engage women in all dimensions of the political process and to increase awareness of issues that affect women generally. In addition, she has held leadership positions in numerous local community organizations, including serving as the past President of the Outer Sunset Merchants & Professionals Association. As a direct result of Ms. Mak's dedication, commitment, and service to the community, she was the recipient of Cathay Post #384's Community Hero Award in 2015.
In her professional life, Jaynry is a licensed attorney at law in the State of California. Previously, she has worked as the Special Assistant and Liaison to the Chinese American community for the late United States Congressman Tom Lantos, representing California's 12th district, and as the Chief Legislative Deputy to Supervisor Fiona Ma in San Francisco.
