Advisory Board Member - Kevin Chan
Advisory Board member Kevin Chan is a second generation owner/operator of the iconic Chinatown tourist mecca, the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. The fortune cookies are all hand made which makes it unique as most fortune cookies are mass produced by automated machines. They are still Handmade each ones by hand in front of the tourists.
Before coming back to the family business, Kevin’s entrepreneurial spirit thrived a he worked to support his family, which includes 5 daughters. He started working at the age of 14 where he worked at Fong Brothers Printing. He was also employed at the Empress of China as a Banquet Waiter. Before coming back into the family business, he pursued business opportunities in China.
Along with his community based jobs, he has active community engagement through his work with BeChinatown, the Golden Gate Artists Association, Chinatown Merchant Association. And many other Community Associations.
His leisure activities include traveling, gardening and interacting with people while visiting Chinatown. Recently he got crowned from Chinatown Merchant Association as a “Chinatown Ambassador “.
